Purpose for the job: Under the day-today supervision of the Programme Specialist (Social Policy and Economics), you will ensure technical, managerial and administrative support for institutional capacity building and programme sustainability. 

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Within the delegated authority and under the given organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned the primarily, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

1.         Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results

2.         Technical and operational support to programme implementation

3.         Networking and partnership building

4.         Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

To qualify as Child Protection Officer, you need to have...

Education:     

A university degree in one of the following fields is required: social work, international development, public administration, public policy, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.

Experience and knowledge:

A minimum of two years of professional experience in development planning and management in child or social protection related areas, including social work, psychology, sociology, social pedagogy is required.

Knowledge and understanding of the policy and legal framework in Turkmenistan relating to social protection, child protection, disability is required. Experience of liaising with government Ministries is desirable.

Good knowledge and understanding of international rights framework (CRC, CRPD, CEDAW) is considered an asset.      

Language Requirements:   

Fluency in English, Turkmen and Russian is required.  

Other:

Willingness to travel extensively within Turkmenistan
